The cellular phone booster NS500 GW is one of the latest dualband booster models from Nikrans which amplifies GSM and 3G signals. It operates at GSM 900 MHz frequency range and at 2100 MHz frequency range for 3G internet simultaneously. Some network providers use 900 MHz as a standard frequency for voice calls and 3G internet; thus, you will get the best of both worlds by using this booster model. How it works
It is important to pay attention to certain things during the set up process of a wireless cell phone extender. Improper installation may cause significant interference in the work of cellular operators, or in other devices that use nearby radio frequencies. This happens because the outside antenna not only receives, but also transmits a significantly improved signal to the nearest base station. The emitted signal is often the cause of most of the interference in the nearest radio equipment, if the system is configured incorrectly. In order to avoid interruptions and any noise in the audio path of the receiver (mobile phone) follow the instructions given in the user’s manual.

Difficult installation
Although everyone says that the booster is easy to install, for me the installation was a real quiz. First, my husband mounted the outdoor antenna outside the window and we see no result. Then we called the support team and they explained that the device would improve coverage only on condition that it catches an adequate signal from the nearest base station. So when my husband changed the located of the outdoor antenna and put it on the roof, it picked up signal and we got improved coverage.

I recommend this device to everyone who is in search of ways to improve poor mobile signal. I bought it for my underground café. It’s not large, about 400 m2. The installation was very simple and didn’t take long. I placed the outdoor antenna outside the café, the booster box and the indoor antenna inside the café. When everything was ready, I just plugged the device in and voila – my visitors can enjoy perfect coverage.

Nothing special
If you are waiting for something extraordinary from this device, you are most likely to be disappointed. There isn’t anything special about it. It’s just a simple booster, which improves GSM and 3G. It’s not suitable for 4G amplification. The indoor coverage is up to 450 m2, so you can’t use it inside large premises. There are only two working frequencies – 900 MHz and 2100 MHz. So, in my opinion, it’s better to pay more and to choose a tri-band booster.

Nice model
The reception at my cottage house, located 35 km from the city, was awful. There was constant interference and it was impossible to speak on the phone. With NS500 GW everything is okay. The GSM signal as well as mobile internet is stable and uninterrupted.

Improves reception
A very compact device but not less effective at all! I bought it for my private house because I was fed up with poor reception, the audibility during calls was awful, and the 3G signal was very weak. Now I have improved mobile coverage around the whole house, which is a bit more than 450 m2. Both types of signal became more stable, I mean GSM and 3G. The speed of mobile internet is fast enough to watch mobile TV.

Good amplifier

Strange design
In general, it’s fine. I mean the functionality. But it’s a pity that the amplifier has only one color option, I think that it won't fit into any light coloured design. And one more thing - it's warming up from time to time. Maybe it happens only with mine…

Short indoor cable
I needed to improve a poor mobile signal at the cafe. And when I was surfing the net, I came across these boosters. Having studied the question, I decided to order one. I’ve chosen the NS-550GDW model as it suits the size of my place (600m2) and it supports the frequencies I needed to improve - 900 MHz and 2100 MHz. The only thing I’d like to draw your attention to is that the length of the cable which is needed for the indoor antenna is very short. So it’s a good idea to customize your order and to increase the length of the indoor cable.

Believe it or not, but I have totally forgotten what poor reception is with this device. We installed it at the office and we enjoy full bars and stable connection. There are no more signal problems and interference during the conversations. The mobile internet is so speedy that I can even watch videos and download large files. Good for GSM and 3G
I see no reason not to buy it! It’s compact and lightweight, effective both for calls and mobile internet and easy to install. Doesn’t consume much energy thanks to energy-saving mode and suits for all UK operators. Perhaps the price is a bit high, but I took it on sale, so for me it was okay.

Connection is amplified
I bought this booster for my parent’s village house to amplify the cellular signal, the distance to the base station is about 20 km. Without amplification, the old push-button telephone had an unstable connection, in certain places from 1-2 antenna divisions, modern smartphones didn’t work at all. After installing the amplifier both the push-button telephone and the smartphone showed 5 antenna divisions, the connection is excellent.
